The Cafe (12th scale)

So, having made some savouries for sale in the corner shop... and making too many, as one does... I decided to start on another new project - the 12th scale cafe.

Hubby again made me the room box out of MDF, as well as making me the display counter and the fridge, and I took it from there. Still a work in progress (as is the original 12th scale corner shop). Pics to follow soon.

Latest projects... The Corner Shop (12th scale)

I've taken time out from Lundby to work on a 12th scale room box. My husband kindly made me the starter box out of MDF and I have decorated it and am now in the process of filling it - making as much as possible myself when it comes to content. Pics to follow soon!

NEW Side garden - raised area

This is the raised area in the new side garden to the left of the house.

There is a painted stone wall, fenced off on top, with a couple of steps leading up to a grassed area.

To the rear of the raised area is the aviary (handmade by my hubby) and a bird table (again, made by my hubby).

To the front of the raised area is a child's swing.... again, made by my hubby.

NEW Side garden - Wild, wooded area to rear of house

I wanted to add some detail outside the boundaries of my house and garden, so decided to create this little wild wooded area beyond the fence at the back of the vegetable garden. This is a hilly area, covered in moss and clumpy wild grass, wild flowers and ferns. I also added a couple of mossy boulders and a tree.
There is a "deadfall" (a pile of larger, dead tree branches) on the ground next to the tree, but unfortunately they're mostly hidden by the fence in this pic.

NEW Side garden - vegetable garden and cold frames

The pic to the left is the vegetable garden at the rear of the new side garden (to the left of the house). My hubby made the cold frames for me. The smaller of the two (with the open lid) has a box of seedlings inside. The larger coldframe contains boxes of picked fruit and veg.

The coldframes sit on a gravel area and the gravel path continues between the two soil beds. There is a basket of potatoes to the front of the picture and a hedgehog on the gravel path.

The pic to the right is a closer view of the soil beds.

NEW Side garden - slabbed patio and flower beds

This is the middle area of the new side garden, behind the see-saw.

Mum is standing on the handmade slabbed patio area, next to the wishing well that was made by my hubby. There is a lovely flower bed with some small conifer trees and some flowers, surrounded by white edging stones.

Behind the slabbed path, you can see the wheelbarrow (made by my hubby), that I've used as a planter and have filled with flowers.

NEW Side garden - decking

My hubby made a wooden raised decking area and also the wooden bench for gran to sit out in the garden. The terracotta flowers pots were made by me.
